Call For Collective Impact in

Responsible mining

As the IDWIM Co-Leaders, we are proud to be part of the mining and natural resource industry. It builds nations, powers transition and sustains families and communities across the world. Every decision we make today will leave a mark on the future and for us. Responsible mining has a measurable impact on people, our communities, the environments and on the generations who will inherit the outcomes of today’s leadership.

Maria Jose approaches this work through mining law and ESG governance. Audrey approaches it through culture engineering and building accountable, diverse, and psychologically safe workplaces. We stand in different disciplines, yet we share the same conviction. As mothers and business leaders, we cannot separate our professional commitments from our responsibility to the future.

We are inviting you to stand with us. Claim your Space and use your voices to impact and activate action.

With Gratitude,

Audrey and Maria Jose

Leaders Shaping the Future of Responsible Mining

Responsible mining is not defined by what we extract, but by how we lead, how we protect, and how we regenerate in the process. Our speakers represent a collective of leaders who are actively shaping that future. They bring operational expertise, governance discipline, community insight, environmental stewardship, and courageous leadership

IAMGOLD is pleased to support International Day of Women in Mining’s Voices of Impact, a campaign that calls for collective action in advancing responsible mining.
Led by IDWIM Co Leaders Maria Jose Rodriguez and Audrey Hlembizky, Voices of Impact fosters constructive, industry wide dialogue on issues that matter to all of us and are essential to building a responsible mining sector: responsibility for people, communities, the environment, and leadership.

Beyond conversation, the campaign encourages action, inviting members of the mining community to engage with one of four calls to action aligned with these focus areas.
IAMGOLD’s support reflects our commitment to responsible mining and to engaging thoughtfully in industry dialogue on leadership, inclusion, and the evolving challenges shaping our sector.

1

RESPONSIBILITY FOR PEOPLE

Responsible mining begins with accountability for the safety, dignity, and lived experience of those who power the industry. This includes physical and psychological safety, equitable opportunity, respectful culture, and consistent accountability in behaviour and consequence. Leadership must ensure that systems, incentives, and decisions protect people, not merely productivity.

2

RESPONSIBILITY FOR COMMUNITIES

Mining operates within communities, not apart from them. Responsible mining requires long-term partnership grounded in trust, transparency, and shared value. This inchides meaningrut engagement, reliable follow-through on commitments. respect for rights and local context, and measurable contribution to community well-being beyond the life of a project.

3

RESPONSIBILITY FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PRESERVATION AND REGENERATION

Extraction carries irreversible impact. Responsible mining requires stewardship that extends beyond compliance to preservation, mitigation, and regeneration. Leaders must consider cumulative and intergenerational effects, integrate chironmental mits into decision-making, and plan for closure and restoration as core responsiblities not end-stage obligations.

4

RESPONSIBILITY FOR DECISION-MAKING AND LEADERSHIP

The integrity of mining is determined by how decisions are made under complexity and pressure. Responsible leadership demands transparency in trade-offs, ethical governance, alignment between values and incentives, and accountability for consequences. Leadership is not defined by authority alone, but by the willingness to own outcomes and act with Integrity when stakes are nigh

THE ACTIVATION COMMITMENT

Accountability begins with courage

Responsible mining begins when we are willing to examine our own decisions with honesty, acknowledge where we can do better and act with integrity even when it is uncomfortable.

Responsible mining is not advanced by intention alone, it is advanced by leaders who choose authenticity over convenience.

The Activation Commitment demands something personal from each of us. To use our diverse voices, skills, knowledge and influence to take one responsible action that reflects the future we want to create.

  • ACTIVATE ONE RESPONSIBILITY.

  • MEASURE THE OUTCOME.

  • SHARE THE IMPACT.
